Directions
It is recommended to take this under the supervision of a healthcare provider. For adults 18 and older, take two (2) capsules by mouth as tolerated daily or as directed by a healthcare provider.
PLEASE NOTE: Our Na R-ALA is a TRUE 600mg per Serving (2 Capsules). The 600mg is the TRUE net weight of the desired compound R-ALA, (aka R-LA aka R-Lipoate, yes so many ways to say the same thing). In order to Stabilize, R-ALA, Sodium (Na) is attached to it, which increases the overall weight of the molecule substantially. Many brands neglect to adequately state the net weight of Na R-ALA and you might not get the dose needed. With Na (Sodium) weight added the actual mg's of Na R-ALA is 660mg for 2 capsules.
Understanding ALA Better
As much as we want to fit 600mg into a single capsule, it physically is not possible. After the "R"-ALA is isolated and Stabilized the final raw material is supremely fluffy and takes up a tremendous amount of space in the capsule. Having a 2 Capsule serving to get the full 600mg dose was the best option. The added benefit of having a 2 capsule serving, gives customers the ability to easily titrate up to the desired dose, as ALA at high doses can sometimes be challenging to tolerate, and has proven to be helpful in the earlier weeks. Typically, to get the full benefits of this product, a 600mg daily dose is recommended. However, under the supervision of a healthcare provider, dosing upwards of 1200mg per day in divided doses is commonly understood to help people in need of Neuroprotective and Myelin Health support.
Run of the mill ALA comes as R-ALA and S-ALA 50% of each. S-ALA a bi-product during the manufacturing process can be problematic, and possibly hinder the results you are looking to achieve. Other brands have begun to recognize this and started using the isolated R-ALA, in a High Potency version. This simply is not enough. The problem with unstabilized R-ALA is that it is unstable, and can easily break down and/or polymerize under high heat situations such as during transport at any point in the supply chain. A polymerized capsule is virtually useless, and you will not get the result you are looking for.
